Edmund Homa: Design pioneer
Edmund Homa (1927–2017) was one of the pioneers of Polish industrial design—a designer who combined art with science, ergonomics with aesthetics, and tradition with modernity. His furniture, mainly chairs, was not just utilitarian objects but a conscious response to the needs of the human body.
His designs, though often ahead of their time, had to face the realities of the Polish People’s Republic economy—the simplicity of mass production and technological limitations. Despite this, Homa created furniture that was sophisticated in construction and full of elegance.
